Another angel to love

I have another good announcement! My good friend Jaclyn Parker and her husband, Kevin, had their little boy Wednesday, Feb. 18th! It’s their first baby and his name is Elijah… I’ve seen him twice and I’ve done nothing short of “hog” the baby when I’ve been around him. Who could blame me though? Babies are just the sweetest thing God ever gave us. We’re planning to see him again tomorrow night! So here’s a picture of another new baby that I’m in love with…

Last week and weekend weren’t too eventful. Josh spent four days at Ft. Gordon with his unit. So you can imagine how tired he was when he came home Sunday evening. He’s not had a day off in a couple of weeks, poor thing. Brady was sleeping in bed with me while Josh was gone, so now he’s begging to sleep in our bed every night. Saturday, I went with two of my girl friends (Bonnie & KB) and saw the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic. We had fun. Of course we spent way too much money at the concession stand, and we filled up on coke and popcorn.

**In case anyone is interested…this Thursday, Friday & Saturday (9a.m.-5p.m., 9a.m.- 4pm., & 8a.m. – 4p.m.) there will be a Kids Consignment Sale in Palmerdale. It’s at the Community Center in Palmerdale right off of Hwy 75.

Throwing Elbows

Not too many things are more thrilling then watching a competitive sport live. I don't care for watch some sports on t.v., but when you're THERE you can really get into the action. Well, basketball is probably one of my least favorite sports, but the whole family got to watch Kendall play this past Friday and I have to say WOW! It was so exciting!! I mean, they're 4th graders and I saw Kendall block some big shots. Not to mention, that my step-daughter is almost the same size as me and there were girls larger than her on the other team...and those girls were all over her. Throwing elbows, stepping on toes, pushing with their shoulder...ruthless little 9 and 10 year olds! It was really great though. I love to see how much she's grown, improved, changed in the last three years. Final score: Southeastern (our team) 17, Appalachian 3. So far, they are 2-0!!
Next...SOFTBALL (that's MY sport).
And the next thing I have to share may not be for the weak of heart. Ever since Braden was born he's been a little on the adventurous side. Jumping off of things, climbing trees, running headlong down a wet hillside...he's also quite an adventurous eater (like his daddy). Well, Thursday night Josh, Braden & I went to SPR (a little sushi place downtown) and ate dinner with our friends George, Di & Hope. I knew Braden wouldn't eat anything, but he surprised us. Josh talked him into trying an octopus, sushi style (cooked, but it still looked like a baby octopus...yuck). He wasn't crazy about it, but he was a trouper anyway... In fact I think he called the tentacle a "groun (aka; brown) worm". Here's a pic:
