The Best Times

I love fall.  It's the best.  I don't know why, but it always gets my creative juices flowing.  And in the last week I've finished distressing a barrel for my photographer friend Holly Allred with The Photographers, Inc. and then I painted this ugly side table that I bought at the thrift store for $4.  I needed a table for our sun room which is currently EMPTY except for my swing chair that Josh got me for my birthday, and I think this one turned out great.  I want a comfy space that everyone wants to spend time in and so I want fun & casual furniture.  This turned out great, I was really pleased.  I've still got a very large empty sun room, but I'm getting there.

Today I got to spend time with my cousin again.  This time it was to register for her baby shower.  Believe it or not, even though I have a 2 month old I've not been in Babies 'R Us in a long time.  It was so much fun.  I got to go through everything with my cousin and enjoy shopping for baby girl stuff and I also got to buy my littlest guy a few things.  It was the best of both worlds.  If I was loaded I would have bought 1/2 the store for our kids today.  Oh my goodness, having kids is so expensive and it's only that way because us moms can't help buying all the cute and cool stuff!  Ha!

Here's a couple of pics.  I love to watch them grow...

Back in the Saddle

Well, it finally happened, it's over now...  I'm back to work.  I woke up on the morning of September 10th and got myself and 2 little guys ready for the day and dropped them off at their respective schools and drug my feet all the stinkin' way to work.  I didn't cry (I thought I might, even if it's just a little) and I didn't whine, I put on my big girl panties and went to work.  Of course, it's awful.  I know I should be at home with my little guy, but apparently paying the bills is a very important thing.
It's football season, so Kendall is cheering again.  I love this time of the year.  Football, beautiful fall colors, the cooling of the summer air.  It's just wonderful.  Especially now that we're in the new house.  Our views around us are just beautiful no matter what time of the year it is, but I have a feeling that fall will be especially gorgeous.  I'm really looking forward to Halloween.  Our neighborhood is THE PLACE to be for trick or treating and I've not lived in a neighborhood like that since I was a young child.  It's definitely something I always wanted for my own children and I can't WAIT for Oct. 31st to get here.
So, we've not had any issues with Braden being jealous of Owen but I don't want to take a chance of Brady doubting how much we love him so I am trying to schedule plenty of one on one time with him in the midst of our very busy schedules.  This past Saturday Brady & I went on our first mommy/son date since Owen was born.  We went to see Finding Nemo in 3D.  He may not remember it, but I remember that it was the very first movie he sat through.  He wasn't quite 3 and he laid on the couch & watched it with me on the Disney Channel.  I LOVE that movie!  I'd never seen a movie in 3D before and I have say I was a little worried about motion sickness, but I didn't have any issues.  I actually thought the whole 3D experience was really cool.  Especially with this movie.

The other exciting thing that happened to me was that I got to go to my cousin (& very close friend) Amanda's ultrasound appointment.  She's having twins (::squeeeeal::) and we were so excited to go see what they were.  After much anticipation we found out that it is twin GIRLS!  Yay!  She's got the perfect little mix.  2 boys & 2 girls.  ::sigh::  It makes my heart very happy for her.  I can not WAIT to hold those little angels.  I love them already

Time Flies

It just doesn't seem like it's been two months since I gave birth to my sweet little Owen.  He's grown so quick.  It amazes me the rate of growth a human being goes through in one year of life.  If you count conception until their 1st birthday it's just mind boggling.  According to the Mayo Clinic, from birth to 5 months of age a normal baby can grow a 1/2 - 1 inch per month and double their birth weight (in the first 5 months).  It seems like even nature doesn't want to let me keep my little man as a tiny baby!

This is my last week of maternity leave, and Josh has been gone on some training (blah, blah, blah) at Ft. Leonard Wood so I've tried to enjoy my little bit of quality time that I have left at home...which of course means I've got to start a new project.  This weeks project was painting the hall bathroom.  It was the room Josh wanted to paint first, but of course the boys' rooms had that honor, so I have just now gotten around to it.  With a little help from my sweet sister Audrey.  And it looks much better I must say... (don't worry, it's not YELLOW, the lighting was just really crappy.  The color is called Sunkissed Sand)
